CERTIFIED NATURAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER, CERTIFIED HOLISTIC NUTRITION PRACTITIONER, CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH, AUTHOR, WRITER, AND BIG BELIEVER IN THE AMAZING HEALING POWER OF NATURE
Hi! I’m Jen Tremonti.
I’m a natural health teacher, coach, and writer who helps people create vibrant health by transitioning from an unhealthy diet and lifestyle to naturally healthful diet and lifestyle practices that enable the body to heal and function at a high level of health and vitality.
Long before I became passionate about natural health, I led a life that wasn’t very healthy. Like so many of us, I grew up eating a lot of meat, dairy, eggs, pasta, bread, and processed junk foods. And I was exposed to many toxins at home, outside, at school, and everywhere really. That kind of diet and lifestyle continued well into my 30s, and I had also climbed the career ladder landing a busy job as a nonprofit CEO with lots of travel. The work was rewarding in so many ways. Yet deep down I knew I had to make changes because my health was suffering big time. Migraines, digestive issues, insomnia, stress, anxiety, skin problems, thinning hair, and low energy plagued me daily.
In 2011, I decided that I had finally had enough. I began making some big changes and haven’t looked back! Over the past 10 years, I’ve truly transformed my diet and lifestyle, which has resulted in me feeling and functioning the best ever in my life. I’m certainly not doing everything perfectly. But I’ve made huge health gains and look forward to even more as I continue on this path.
THE CLIFF NOTES VERSION OF WHAT I DID LOOKS LIKE THIS:
I quit my job.
I made health my priority.
I studied nutrition and health at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became a Certified Health Coach.
I went vegetarian and then vegan.
I studied plant-based nutrition at eCornell in partnership with the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies to earn a certification in Plant-Based Nutrition.
I became a whole food plant-based vegan and then also dropped salt/oil/sugar.
I studied the Terrain Model of Health, learned about the most healthful natural diet for humans, and am about 80% transitioned to that diet, which is a low-fat raw vegan diet comprised mostly of fruit, tender leafy greens, and small amounts of nuts/seeds. Sidebar: I know you’re probably thinking “What?!” but trust me — it’s a delicious diet filled with possibilities! Terrain Model is also referred to as Natural Hygiene and Life Science, which is rooted in following the laws of nature and allowing the body to naturally heal itself free from outside interventions of any kind. Terrain Model is a comprehensive health system that factors in 30+ elements of health to create a clean “terrain” in the body including pure water, clean air, diet, rest and sleep, exercise, sunshine, fasting, and emotional poise.
I studied natural health and nutrition at the University of Natural Health where I earned a certification as a Natural Health Practitioner and a certification as a Holistic Nutrition Practitioner graduating Summa Cum Laude (GPA of 4.0 with Superior Distinction). Areas I’ve studied in-depth include natural hygiene (hygiene = the science of the establishment and maintenance of health), our true dietary nature, the body as a self-healing organism, acid/alkaline balance, toxic foods and their ill effects, proper food combining, supplements as denatured poisons, carcinogenic cooked foods, and why a low-fat raw vegan diet of mainly whole, ripe, fresh, raw, organic fruits along with tender leafy greens and small amount of nuts and seeds is the most healthful, species-appropriate diet for humans.
THAT BRINGS ME TO WHY I’M HERE:
I’m here to help Fellow Health Seekers who are ready to “unlearn” false health information, gain new knowledge in natural health, Learn how the body works, and make Diet + Lifestyle changes to create and maintain vibrant health.
I hope that’s you!
Even if you’re skeptical, I encourage you to cast aside current beliefs and keep an open mind. If you’re not feeling and functioning at a high level of health, something you’re currently doing isn’t working—and it’s likely many things as it was for me.
A lot of what I teach is likely to be new to you and conflict with what you currently believe to be true. If you do keep an open mind and take time to put together the whole picture, I promise it will make a lot of sense to you. In addition to what I share, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do your own research. And, most importantly, apply the new knowledge you’ll gain. When you do, I’m confident you’ll see many positive health changes that’ll boost your excitement around life and moving forward in this lifestyle. That’s what happened for me and many thousands of people who are enjoying vibrant health by journeying back to nature when it comes to how we eat and live.
Vibrant health is truly our birthright. It’s our natural state of being. You and I have an incredibly intelligent body—one that is self-healing when we provide it with the right conditions for health. When the body is given those right conditions, symptoms fade away and health is restored.
My philosophy and approach is based on harmonizing with the laws of nature. As a society, we’ve moved away from nature and its immutable laws. And this has resulted in what we see all around us: Millions upon millions of people who are sick, in pain, lacking energy, and feeling depressed. Millions more may not have a lot of symptoms—yet—but know they’re living in an unhealthy way and want to take steps to live healthfully to prevent the onset of illness.
If that sounds like you, the good news is that you’re completely empowered to make different and healthier choices. You can learn about what you need to do to create vibrant health. You can read stories about people who’ve done it and how they’ve done it. You can make choices every day to eat and live healthfully. And you can get guidance, support, and coaching from people like me along the way. It really is as simple as that.
Depending on your unique health challenges, the journey to vibrant health is likely to have some difficulties. Transitioning away from an unhealthy diet and lifestyle is full of challenges. But I promise you this: It will be worth it. On the other side is a healthy, happy, joyous, fulfilling life.
